ARSI History
American Recovery Service Incorporated originated in 1986 in Southern California. The corporation began as a full service commercial collection agency under the name Commercial Credit Recovery Service. Quickly expanding into accounts receivable management programs, Receivable Management Support System was created and legal services were added. In 1990, both entities merged under the
ARSI name.
Operating as the ARSI Group of Companies, the corporation showed tremendous growth throughout the 1990s. Fortune 500 corporations in the advertising, insurance, telecommunication, leasing,
and financial service industries partnered with ARSI. Maintaining high growth rates each year,
ARSI has grown to be one of the 20 largest commercial debt agencies in the United States.

Our People
Recruiting, hiring, and training great people are our highest priorities. We look for and hire the best. We train all employees through our Professional Development
Program (PDP). Each new employee's PDP starts with a rigorous 2-week formal
training course about the laws of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA)
and general collections. In addition, each Friday all collectors are required to
attend a "demand skill" training class. Advanced levels of our Professional
Development Program are conducted once a month.
Collectors and support staff are required to attend a 1- to 2-day course when a new client is started. Explanations of client media, codes, client protocol, common disputes, arguments and rebuttals, and work standards are covered.
Compliance
ARSI is fully compliant and adheres to all State and Federal Collection
practices regulations. We follow standards for compliance, confidentiality, and
privacy requirements. Employees are tested on FDCPA compliance both in the PDP
training course as well as during annual seminars.
Employee Security
ARSI employees are pre-screened for the highest level of personnel
security possible. Employees also sign affidavits acknowledging their
understanding of and consent to the following security measures:
- Security Policy
- Confidentiality Agreement
- FCRA Authorization Form/Consent
- Consumer Credit Report & Background Check Authorization
- Drug Test Consent Form
- Telephone Monitoring Consent Form
ARSI does employ additional security measures such as security badges
to enter the premises. More information is available upon request.
Technology
The ARSI network is the coalescing factor in our IT infrastructure. All users are
integrated with high-speed connections, which they use to access our local computing resources and external client resources. Contact centers are connected using
routers across secure and dedicated T1 lines. Important computing applications
are provided over the network by servers in our Thousand Oaks Data Center. The entire network sits behind
firewalls that are maintained by an outside security consulting firm.
For security and disaster recovery reasons, all Web, FTP, client reporting,
and mail servers are located off-site in other geographic regions. These are
located in bonded, secure data centers. The ARSI intranet is maintained by Web servers operating in an internal environment.
Internet access is highly limited and monitored.
ARSI maintains a guest network which provides wireless access to visiting clients. This network is completely detached from the
ARSI network, having its own hardware and unrelated IP addresses which are independent of the main
ARSI network.
Support, enhancement, and maintenance of the network are responsibilities of our in-house IT staff. They also provide support and data-related assistance to our clients.
